The local little hospital experience

this time we tried the local hospital to change Lila's dressing.

First we had to pay up front for the appointment. But it only cost about $1.

Then we visited the doctor. Then told we're at the wrong doctor and find another one back downstairs.

Note that people just hover around the doctor for their turn. There's no privacy. But there's no need. They're only treating minor ailments. I doubt western doctors could handle this method, let alone deal with patients so quickly.

In the end, the doctor wasn't able to provide the appropriate bandage, so we were able to return to reception to get a refund. Yes, you read right.

We ended up just going to a pharmacy which is what we should have done anyway.

So it's more a medical centre than a hospital as we know it. But we really need centres like these where you can get everything done for minor ailments. Blood tests all done in the same building and straight away.

We didn't need an appt and we where in and out within 15 months.

Australia's GP system needs a dramatic shake up when you see it done so much more efficiently and cheaper.
